Dermavant Sciences, a subsidiary of Roivant Sciences, is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing therapeutics in immuno-dermatology. At the end of 2021 it launched a digital transformation initiative to improve internal workflows and AP capabilities as part of a larger S/4HANA migration led by Clarkston. Optima was brought in as the specialist for SAP Invoice Management and SAP Information Capture Core. The existing framework was causing excessive invoice errors, protracted payment delays, and misplaced documentation. Dermavant needed a scalable invoice model, a best-in-class OCR solution, and expert help moving off Oracle, on a rigid timeline that still left room for rigorous testing.
Dermavant significantly increased the early payment discounts it takes, reduced unnecessary invoice status and inquiry calls through better collaboration around issue resolution, and prevents the same invoice from posting and paying more than once. With these improvements in place it is positioned to realize the full benefits of the S/4HANA platform as it enters an expansive phase of growth.
